The WHO has released the 2024 Global Tuberculosis Report and it places TB as the leading infectious disease killer, surpassing COVID-19. While TB deaths dropped slightly in 2023, the number of new TB cases rose significantly. The report also included fiscal determinants for the first time, showing that around half of all affected households face catastrophic costs to access TB care. Read more here.
